I’m Gas Mask Boy – now you’ve made me MAD! (#TraffordGasMaskBoy)

A cool (and disturbing) piece of theatrical protest!!

After unanimous local rejection in Trafford for Peel’s Biomess Incinerator from the people, the council and the local MP, the Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government Abuse of Power & Business Interests decided to override the peoples will and give Peel his pollution license as naturally he knows what’s best for the people of Trafford. (From his office down in London)

This decision will not go unchallenged!

Have you ever seen an anguished boy in a suit with a gas mask rage rapping over a heavy remix of Erik Satie? Thought not… turn it up:)

An Unusual Manoeuvre – The Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank

A short time-lapse video of the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory performing what one of the expert employees (Eric) called ‘An Unusual Manoeuvre.’ Apparently the telescope was tracking a moving object in space. A truly impressive site. (Albeit in real life there was no epic bassy soundtrack and it was much much slower than this:)

An Afternoon with Dr Frankín

A short documentary following the young and deeply disturbed Dr Frankín and his minions as he reveals his life’s work, the secret moon annihilator humanitarian experiment. He also shares his thoughts on tourists, recycling and his neighbour. But have his minions done their jobs properly and is the experiment correctly configured to give Dr Frankín his revenge what he needs to help humanity?

Rockscapes

Rockscapes - Å (Lofoten), Norway

On a drive down to the bottom of Lofoten in Norway we came across the village Å. A tiny place on the coast with a dramatic view of the Norwegian sea over the fractured rockscapes. Surely one of the most peaceful places on the planet. (Based on very limited and subjective opinion 🙂 )

Auschwitz – Birkenau

‘For ever let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity, where the Nazis murdered about one and a half million men, women, and children, mainly Jews from various countries of Europe. Auschwitz-Birkenau 1940 – 1945’

Figure It Out

A selection of loops and grooves made on the move by twitchy thumbs using Propellerheads Figure.

When Trance and Reggaeton roll around in the mud 🙂

25 minutes is a long time in a Gondola

Something a little more meditative…

My first Figure track inspired while visiting Považská Bystrica in Slovakia 🙂

Awakening

Awakening was an experiment with time-lapse photography that became this video of a Lily. My first attempts resulted in 1000s of photos of the same closed Lilly which were nice enough as pictures (although acutally pretty boring if I’m being honest) but they definitely didn’t make much of a video and it did start to feel strange leaving for work everyday and leaving a camera repeatedly taking the same thing like an art-house CCTV camera. After watching how the flowers seemed to burst open at first light and in as short a time of 1hr I setup and this is what I got. The soundtrack is the actual sound of the flower opening. I put a very small hidden microphone with the flowers and this is what it picked up. Honestly, it wasn’t created separately and added later to make the whole thing seem like Planet Earth on acid!

Das Tagebuch (The Diary)

On a recent visit to the Austrian Alps ‘Das Tagebuch’ gave birth to itself and from the chaos and cushion of digital placenta grew and evolved into an experimental diary to review the many thoughts and emotions of the day. The form is a true surrealist visceral art-house style which subverts and rejects the straightjacket of traditional narrative structures.

These films were conceived, filmed and edited daily in 1.5 hours each (avg based on dinner time) so are instinctive expressions and naturally liberated from any typical editorial processes. As such they embody a rawness that makes them either truly original organic masterpieces of expression, thoughts and emotions or, more likely, rushed incoherent shite.

Note: These films are best watched in fullscreen mode with full HD selected accompanied with a fine balsamic vinegar and a breaded fertiliser.

Save Trafford General vigil – 31st October 2012

Halloween 2012… the ‘con’sultation ends… the fight continues…

Over 12,000 signatures on the historic petition – personally delivered to the Prime Minister in Downing Street.
Over 1,000 people marched together through the streets to the hospital.
Trafford Councillors and Health Scrutiny Committees unanimous in their rejection of fundamentally flawed proposals to further downgrade and remove vital hospital services.

Our health, our resources, our hospital, our NHS!

#GLOBALNOISE Manchester 2012 – END DEBT SLAVERY

Democracy is not a tick in a box every X years – a dozen times or so in total over an entire lifetime!

Democracy is not the deficit of legitimacy left by the crushing majority of two-thirds non-voters at local elections!

Democracy is not a choice between a faster or slower rate of worsening financial apartheid and debt slavery!

Democracy is not about ruling through obedient, unquestioning or enforced compliance!

Democracy is not the abuse of power by the strong over the weak!

DEMOCRACY IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT!

THIS IS GLOBAL NOISE!

We want to BREATHE CLEAN AIR!

Introducing Gas Mask Boy (#TraffordGasMaskBoy). He has a message for the people of Trafford. The bullying Peel Powa is subverting democracy and trying to push through a poisonous polluting incinerator. Time for action!!!

Bags

Bags - Medina tannery in Fes, Morocco

Through the endless warren of the Fes Medina is the tannery. An open sided 5 story building wall-to-wall in leather products over looking the giant tanning and dye pits. You can taste the stench of leather and dye in the air. “Would you like nice handbag for wife?” the salesman says and points to a cave of bags.
